So far 2018 has been great for photography — I’ve had several engagement and senior portrait sessions already this year! It’s been a cold winter, no doubt. However, winter portrait sessions can be so unique! Leo and Heidi’s engagement session was no exception!
These two weren’t dead set on a location for their engagement photos so I recommended the Stillwater area. Stillwater is a great spot for engagement sessions, senior portrait sessions, etc. The downtown Stillwater has a great historic feel — lots of great architecture and exposed brick! The St Croix river also provides a great location for portraits.
This time was a little different.
When I thought about recommending Stillwater as a location, I didn’t put too much thought into the Ice Castles display. I thought to myself… Well.. If we’re able to beat the rush maybe we could sneak in there really quick for a few images. After making friends with one of the workers at the Ice Castle, we got to sneak in before the rush and had the whole Ice Castle to ourselves for approximately 10 minutes. It was such a cool experience and I love how some of the images turned out! So Minnesotan 🙂
Leo, being a first cousin of my wife, is no stranger. Him and his fiance, Heidi, were so great to work with! Looking forward to capturing their wedding this September… the same exact yard my wife and I got married in almost 8 years ago!
Thanks for viewing and here’s to a great wedding season 2018!
