Last week, on the first day of autumn here in Minnesota, I ventured out to the small community known as Jordan, Minnesota. Similar to portraits, the best time to take aerial images and video is either early morning or evening. I packed up my gear and headed down 169 South early Friday morning.
Now that I’ve had been flying my drone for about three months, I am finally getting comfortable with the regulations and the actual day-to-day operation with flying a Phantom 4 Pro. Furthermore, over the last few months I’ve gained a better understanding of the marketing potential of aerial photography and video here in Minnesota. Traditionally, drones have served a purpose in real estate photography, agricultural photography, inspections, Geo-mapping, etc. Additionally, as social media channels evolve, so does the opportunity for aerial photo and 4K video. Most recently, Facebook updated their business banner photo functionality and it now includes video. In fact, the banner video plays right when the Facebook business page is accessed — a great way to provide a marketing video, aerial flyover, etc. I strongly feel that we’ll see most businesses go this route and in turn it will open endless possibilities when it comes to digital marketing. What a great way to make a first impression!
Here’s a Facebook timeline video I put together for Izatys Resort in Onamia, Minnesota. Instead of a static image, Facebook visitors are greeted with more of a modern marketing feel: Izatys Resort Facebook Timeline
Moving forward, I will offer Facebook Banner Videos as an optional add-on and as a standalone service.
So in the end, I made the drive down to Jordan to create a short video in efforts to showcase this beautiful community! Below is a peak into what I will be offering moving forward. Please reach out if you, or your organization has interest in transforming your Facebook business page presence.
