Earlier this month, my wedding season kicked off with Alex + Kristine’s Minneapolis wedding at the Millennium Hotel. Although I’ve attended a wedding at the Millennium, this would be my first time photographing a wedding under their famous dome that sits atop the hotel overlooking the Minneapolis skyline. Thanks to some unusually warm weather, Alex + Kristine’s wedding felt more like late May than early April! Overall, the wedding day went so smoothly — the Millennium did a fantastic job with everything. Over the past several years I have had the privilege of capturing weddings at numerous hotels in downtown Minneapolis and the Millennium now ranks up there with my other favorite downtown wedding venues: Loews, The W Foshay and Marquette Hotel’s Windows on Minnesota.
Thanks to social media channels like Facebook, I am able to build and maintain a business by connecting with new couples and re-connecting with friends from the past. Kristine and I both attended SCSU at the same time and our groups of friends maybe had a beer or two at the Red Carpet together :). Fast forward 10 years and I’m blogging about Kristine’s wedding. So crazy how time flies and everything sort of falls into place. I also look back and think about all the great friends I met during my Freshman year in the Case-Hill dorms. To this day, I am still connected with numerous Case-Hill dorm friends.
After having about a six-month break from weddings, I was eager to get back into it! Alex and Kristine were so great to work with. Everybody from family to the bridal party were nice, down-to-earth people. Add all of this to an amazing wedding venue and you have yourself a memorable wedding for years to come. A thank you goes out to Alex and Kristine for hiring me as your wedding photographer! I had a great time!
